Publication conditions

To publish an article in Ukrainian Religious Studies” in No. 97’2025, please take the following steps until May 15, 2025:

  1. fill in an application form (at the link)
  2. send an original article to ukrreligion@gmail.com

Academic integrity

The editors anonymously review articles and check them for plagiarism. Articles are subject to checking for plagiarism using StrikePlagiarism.com by the Polish company Plagiat.pl.

Publication is free of charge if the articles meet the journal's scope and have scientific value.

The journal’s electronic version becomes publicly available on the website on schedule.

Electronic version will be publicly available on the website until August 15, 2025.

Printed copy will be sent to the authors, who order it, until September 15, 2025.

 

Formatting requirements

The editors consider any texts devoted to religious studies: articles (incl. polemical ones), translations, archival sources, reviews, book and scholarly periodical reviews, information about events in the field of history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, phenomenology of religion, and history of religious and theological thought in the world and Ukraine.

The articles should: contain undeniable academic novelty; take into account the advanced contemporary publications on the relevant issues and the history of their consideration; correspond to the journal’s scientific priorities; and rely mainly on the original texts of the cited sources.

The article is formatted using Word for Windows (Times New Roman 14, line spacing 1.5). Margins: top – 2 cm, bottom – 2 cm, left – 3 cm, right – 1.5 cm. Pages are not numbered. Paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm.

Article structure:

- first line (on the right) – UDC;

- below (on the right) – the name, surname of the author (co-authors) in the article language (bold);

- below (centered) – the article title in capital letters (bold);

- abstract (approximately 500 printed characters) and keywords (4-8 words) in the article language;

- below (on the right) – the name, surname of the author (co-authors) in English (bold);

- below (centered) – the article title in capital letters (bold);

- then the abstract (approximately 500 printed characters) and keywords (4-8 words) in English;

If the article is in English: the first name and surname of the author (co-authors), title in English, and then in Ukrainian.

- in a line – the article’s text;

- at the end of the article – an unnumbered alphabetical list of references in Ukrainian;

- an unnumbered alphabetical list of references in English;

- information about the author(s) in Ukrainian and English (not included in the total volume of the article): surname, name, patronymic (in full), academic degree, academic title, position, full name of the institution where the author works or studies, e-mail, ORCID: https://orcid.org/ХХХХ-ХХХХ-ХХХХ-ХХХХ.

The list of references and in-text citations should meet APA (6th edition).

APA style requires using in-text citations whenever you quote a source, whether it is a paraphrase, inline citation, or block quotation. In-text references look like this: (Khmil, 2015) or (Malivskyi & Neill, 2014; Poliuha, 2017), or if a citation (Slobodian & Yakovyna, 2016, p. 58).

Prohibition to refer to the aggressor state’s scholarly papers:

It is not recommended to cite in the text and include in the reference lists those sources published after 1991 in Russian in any country, as well as sources in other languages published in Russia and Belarus. Citing such sources published after 1991 is allowed if the author aims to refute the myths and clichés of our enemy’s propaganda from a scientific standpoint.

Tables and illustrations are numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Notes to the table are given only in the text. Captions to illustrations are centered at the bottom.

Figures and photographs are “embedded” in the main text of the article and are provided additionally as separate files in one of the following formats: TIFF, PCX, JPG, BMP, or CDR.
